Mission & Mandate
Rocketry SA is a privately-funded, membership-based organization, promoting Rocketry in South Africa and represents members from across Africa.
We actively promote all aspects of Rocketry, and includes Hobby Rocketry, Model Rocketry, Sport Rocketry, Experimental and Amateur Rocketry
With a significant International membership component, we welcome rocketeers from all countries to share knowledge, skills, developments and Fun!
Ultimately we promote Rocketry as being Safe, Reliable, Accountable & Fun, while also having elements that can be Challenging, Educational and Competitive!
A crucial role we perform is providing Policy, Guidance, Procedures and Administrative functions for the Legal & Safe Participation in Rocketry activities within South Africa.
In order to fast-track the wide spread adoption of Rocketry in South Africa, we are currently focussing effort on the following key areas:
- Promote & Advocate Safety as it pertains to all facets of Rocketry
- Promotion of “Rocketry Body of Knowledge” and further scientific studies
- Development and promotion of a “Rocketry” – STEM Educational Framework
- Promote Rocketry within the constraints of formal Laws, Regulations and pertinent legal issues
- Unite rocketry groups in South Africa
- Foster and Promote cooperation and cross-certification with International Rocketry organizations
- Provide 3d party Indemnity Insurance for registered SA Rocketeers
